Who's That Opossum in My Tepee?

I thought I heard our dog Chanco playing on the porch. I opened the back door to look out and was surprised to see a furry face looking up at me. The little guy must have smelled something good to eat in our recycling bin just outside the back door. Its only about a 2 foot tall bin. We coaxed him into the dog cage so the kids could get a good look at him. He was very good at playing dead for them. We learned they are the only marsupial in north America and have the most teeth of any land mammal. They are immune to rattlesnake and cottonmouth bites. Once again we also decided they are a very ugly animal. Kind of creepy how their eyes follow you when they are playing dead. No opossum stew for us. We let him go and he lazily walked away to the woods.

Cute, he looks mad that you took him out of the trash.
